Finally starting to feel the baby move! Yeah! It's a bit sporadic, but I'm just happy to know she's ok. Unfortunately for Aaron it's not to the point where he can feel her - although he likes to pretend. And there's actually not a whole lot to tell this week. I feel great, actually forget that I'm pregnant sometimes, minus the growing belly and tight fitting pants. :) And Dylan is still super excited about his baby sister. He checks, rubs, hugs and gives kisses to my belly everyday. He also happily gave up his crib and room for her and moved his way into his "big boy" bedroom this week.
As promised, here's a belly shot. Not a bare belly yet, but still a belly. As much as I can't believe I'm already going into my 22nd week, I can't believe I have 4 1/2 months left of being pregnant. Seems so long.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and Happy New Year!
This is the sequel to our first blog "Our Little Blueberry." We wanted to call it "Our Little Raspberry," but thought that would make people think we were having a girl. Which we may, we just won't know until about 18 weeks. This little blueberry is due 5/9/12 and we can't be more excited about it. You can read all my old posts (when pregnant with Dylan) here www.ourlittleblueberry.blogspot.com

Week 17, 18 & 19
Boy does time fly by. Or should I say GIRL ;-) Yup, you got it. We're having a baby girl - yippee!!!!! Both Aaron and I are beyond excited, but it is so cute to see Dylan so excited too.
The day we found out still seems like a dream. I was in such shock when she told us, but I was quickly overwhelmed with emotions. I started crying and couldn't stop. I also couldn't breathe I was crying so hard - it was kind of humorous because the technician kept saying "you need to breathe, you need to breathe." Of course I would have also been happy to have another little boy, but what girl doesn't want a daughter if she can.
Now onto the baby naming, room decorating and clothes shopping!
And if you were wondering how mama Katz was feeling - we're feeling good and the doctor says the baby looks perfect. I'm a little tired of course and certain things are getting a bit awkward, but overall feeling great. Having Dylan at home doesn't really give me a whole lot of time to remember that I'm even pregnant. I know that might sound a little weird, but it's true. I sometimes forget that I'm pregnant because everything is all about Dylan. So all my mama friends pregnant with their first baby...enjoy. You really never do get to enjoy your time quite like you did when being pregnant the first time.
And hopefully by my next entry I will have felt the baby move. I was really nervous that I hadn't felt the baby move yet (I felt Dylan at 17 weeks), but the doctor said the reason is because of where the placenta attached when our little girl was conceived. It's towards the front of my belly, therefore the baby needs to be a bit stronger in order to kick hard enough for me to feel it through all that "stuff."
Oh, and I promise to post a belly photo on the next entry. Just been a little crazy these past few weeks.

Week 15 & 16
So the date is set. Thursday, December 8th we'll find out if Dylan is going to have a baby brother or baby sister...SOOOOOOO exciting. And so far Dylan seems super excited. I'm sure that will change as it gets closer, and of course once the baby is born, but for now I'll take the extra hugs and belly kisses. :) We also have our 2nd blood test for the integrated screening this coming Friday, 11/25.
How am I feeling you ask? Pretty good. The second trimester is treating me well. Besides being tired, and having a little acid reflux at night, I'm feeling great. It's pretty darn amazing what's going on inside this belly of mine. Right now, Blueberry #2 is the size of an avocado, about 4.5" long, yet only 3.5 ounces in weight. Soon, I'll actually start to feel those wonderful, yet sometimes nauseating kicks and flutters.
Lots to do once we find out the gender. Dylan will be moving into his new bedroom and getting a whole new set of furniture and new big boy bedding. Kind of exciting, yet a bit overwhelming for mommy.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Week 14
Things are getting better...:) and we are officially in the 2nd trimester. Unfortunately, I was sick for the first part of this week, but am feeling better now. And not being able to take any medications to help just down right stinks. HOWEVER, it's 9:11pm and I'm still up and have enough energy to write this post, so that is a huge plus. Not to mention the nausea has subsided, Yippee!
We have our 14 week checkup this Friday, the 11th. It's just a regular checkup but we'll be able to make our next ultrasound appointment at that time to find out the sex of the baby. Any guesses? Aaron swears it's a girl, but I actually kid of think it's another boy.
I promised pictures last week of Dylan all dressed up so here you go. How cute are these kids! Audrey and Dylan dressed up together and had so much fun running around being chased by monsters (i.e. Kevin, Audrey's daddy) and having their Halloween egg hunt.
And by next week I'll start sharing some baby bump photos. It is for sure here, but not the hard baby belly we all prefer, haha.

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention that Aaron and I finally told Aaron about his soon-to-be brother or sister. We showed him the ultrasound picture and some pictures from the What to Expect book with babies in bellies to help try and explain it. He kept asking to "see" the baby and did so by lifting up my shirt. He now likes to rub my belly (kissing it occassionally), however he also likes to be held like a baby again, which I hear is normal. I can't wait until we can tell him whether he's having a sister or brother - we might even get him a boy or girl cabbage patch kid to play with and care for. How cute will that be!

Week 13
Our baby is said to be the size of a peach this week, how cute, and only 1 more week until the 2nd trimester...I can't wait. Not only will we find out the sex of the baby during this trimester, but hopefully I'll get my energy back and not feel so sick. I've only actually got sick twice, but both times was after eating ground meat - guess I won't be trying it for a 3rd time.
So, not only am I pregnant, but my younger sister Carrie and many of my very close girlfriends are pregnant as well. Carrie is about to have her 3rd child - gender unknown, so it's very exciting that her little one and ours will be so close in age.
All else is going well. Nothing too crazy to report - except for the fact that Dylan got sick with Croup this week. Poor kid. Right in time for Halloween. So, because he sadly missed out on all the Halloween night festivities, we're planning on a Halloween egg hunt or something like that possibly on Saturday night. We'll dress him up and he'll hunt for candy filled eggs around the house. Pictures to come...

Week 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12
WOW, I'm already in my 12th week and I've only written twice. Shame on me! You can tell it's my second child vs. my first, can't you?
As you can probably imagine, it's been pretty tough. Trying to care for a 2.5 year old when being SUPER tired and not feeling all that great is certainly not ideal, but it could be way worse. I have not been very sick, which I'm extremely grateful for, but have definitely been more nauseous this time around vs. when I was pregnant with Dylan. No morning sickness, just really nauseous starting around 4pm and lasting until I go to bed - which mind you, is usually promptly at 8:15 after we put Dylan down. I want to say "poor Aaron," since he hasn't seen me past 8:15 in about 7 weeks, but really it's "poor Ali." Talk about not being able to catch up on "life," hence why this is only the 2nd blog post I've written since finding out. And similar to when I was pregnant with Dylan I want nothing to do with food. Obviously I'm still eating, but nothing is appetizing, particularly red meat, and I tend to feel sick after eating. Ugh.
However, now that we're nearing the 2nd trimester it should get a little better. I've actually already noticed a slight difference in my fatigue - I emphasize slight, but in return I'm starting to get some headaches and the dizziness when standing up too quickly is happening. Oh, and that thing we all call a "baby bump" is certainly there. I swear it actually started to form around 7 weeks and there is definitely no hiding it now. So it's a good thing we can now share it with everyone.
Our 12 week ultrasound was yesterday, 10/25/11 and it went perfectly. He/She is looking great says the doctors. It's heartbeat is beating fast and he/she has got both arms and legs. :) Awe, how cute! Just about another 6 weeks until we can find out the sex...and yes, we WILL be finding out. You know me...I'm a planner. Until next week...Love to all

Week 6 - My First Post
Here's to the first post of Our Little Blueberry #2. I wish I could raise a glass of wine to celebrate, but I'll settle for a club soda with a splash of cranberry juice. So YEAH, we're pregnant again and expecting our 2nd little miracle. Aaron and I couldn't be more happy and I am beyond excited about the due date of May 11th, 2012. I'll be home for the summer with my newest little blueberry and not stuck in the house because it's only 5 degrees out.
Unlike the struggle we had trying to get pregnant with Dylan, we got pregnant on the first official try this time. I know, I know, it only took us 8 months to get pregnant with Dylan, but to me that felt like forever. I had wanted Dylan so badly and watching everyone around me get pregnant before me was really hard. And I say "I" because Aaron was ok. He's really good about believing that things will happen when they are meant to happen.
So it's week 6 and I feel great. I'm starting to get more tired than usual but know that this lovely side effect will only get 100x worse. Oh, and my hormones are definitely acting up. I know I'm an emotional person but I couldn't stop crying the other day AT THE OFFICE while watching a video. Yes, the video probably would have made me cry had I not been pregnant, but I literally couldn't talk I was so upset. Kind of funny for the people watching me that have no idea I'm pregnant.
Oh, and about how we found out. It was Sunday, Sept 4th, right before Labor Day and we were hosting a cookout that day. Both Aaron and I felt it was the responsible thing to do to take a test considering I would probably end up drinking quite a few drinks that day. So we did, we took 2 that morning and both had super faint lines. But, I knew that even a super faint positive was still a positive. So YEAH, we were pregnant...again. We then took another test 4 days later and there was no question this time around. That was a definite positive. So that's it for now. I'll write again in a couple of weeks after my first visit with the doctor. Love ya!
